“Shakespeare in Central Park” is an annual theatre festival that starts in the summer in New York City’s Central Park.
If you love theatre and would like to see a great number of famous actors such as Patrick Stewart, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, and Kevin Kline, this is the place to be. Some works of William Shakespeare will be performed by the well known actors.

Last year the Shakespeare Festival started with a very famous productions of Hamlet.  In 1954, this theatre festival was originally devised by the producer and founder of the Public Theatre, Joseph Papp.

Most of the time the shows of the Public Theatre are held in the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park. The name of the company was “The Public Theatre/New York Shakespeare Festival” but under a new re-organization the Public Theatre came up with the name “NYSF”.

Because the tickets are for free, the popularity of the event is even bigger and it can be harder to get one. Especially the productions with the well known actors and the last weekend are extremely busy. It’s first come, first served. Per year, about 80.000 people are visiting the shows of Public Theatre in New York Central Park.

Riding around NYC in a LimoLiner

The most of the business travelers recognize this. If you have to give a presentation in New York tonight, and you need to create a presentation before you arrive, the problem isn’t the time you have to spend on it, but how to make it during your trip. Even when you have no specific must-do task, busy business travelers want to make their traveling time a productive working time.

The only real option for longer trips is flying and for short trips, the time may not be critical. But for trips in the middle range, you may have better alternatives.

New York city is about 200 miles from Boston. You can get to Boston by plane, bus, train or you can drive by yourself. But when you have to make a presentation on your computer, the last one is not a real option.

But I there is also another option.

The LimoLiner is a new kind of transport that is useful for traveling between New York City and Boston. These silver shuttles are custom-configured to provide the comfort for 28 individual passengers.

The LimoLiner shuttle is divided into two cabins.  The front cabin is useful for 18 people and is equipped with airline type business-class seats. There are two seats on the one side and one seat on the other  for making a maximum leg room and privacy.

The rear cabin has the same airline type business-class seats for 10 people, but then with fixed tables to allow for meetings. This area is also designated as a cell-phone-free quiet zone.

The  LimoLiner is a good way to get from Boston to New York.  LimoLiner offers business travelers conveniently scheduled departures and arrivals from to Hilton Hotel locations, one in Boston and one in Midtown Manhattan. You can relax in the lobby of the Hilton Hotels in peace and comfort until your LimoLiner arrives. No lines, no crowds, no stress.

NYC can actually be a very cheap place to eat if you know where to go.

My favourite place to eat worldwide is in fact in NYV and goes by the name ‘La Caridad’.  For $25 two of you can eat very well and I recommend the beef stew + black beans + yellow rice.

La Caridad serv Cuban/Chinese food and the cafe/restaurant is always busy and they always have several guys serving. Their address is: 2199 Broadway, New York 10024. It’s on the corner of 78th and Broadway and if you get lost call them on 212-874-2780.

Planning a family trip to San Francisco and at a loss for what to do? Don´t fret, San Francisco has plenty of activities and museums that will keep both the kids and parents amused.

For animation fans, check out the Cartoon Art Museum located at Yerba Buena Gardens. Endowed by Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz – it´s the only museum in the western US dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of cartoon art in all.

Alcatraz

Be sure to swing by the Aquarium of the Bay, which features over 20,000 aquatic animals – including bat rays, the rare angel shark and the giant pacific octopus.

What’s a trip to the US without catching a ball game?  Visit AT&T Park with its spectacular views of the waterfront and classic architecture. Be sure to book some bleacher seats, starting at $13, for the true experience.

Finally, if you´re going to San Francisco – you must see Al Capone´s former home – Alcatraz.  One of the most famous prisons in the world, Alcatraz is a short ferry ride from Fisherman’s Wharf and offers numerous daily tours that range on subject and hour.

Romance in NYC is alive

For Romance Paris is hard to beat but New York is becoming not just a city know for it’s apple pie, modern art, shopping and theatre. Below you’ll find a list of places to take your love one the next time you visit this great city.

The very top of the Empire State Building, 350 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street (212-736-3100), could be New York’s City’s most famous romantic spot. On a clear day, you’ll have fantastic views across the city. It’s often cold up there so it’ll give you a good excuse to get close to each other.

Oysters are an afrodisiac and what better way to feed the love is to eat oysters at the Grand Central Oyster Bar beneath Grand Central station. This is a gorgeous spectacle, with its vaulted arches, its white-tiled

ceiling and church-crypt ambience. Grand Central Terminal, Lower Concourse (42nd Street at Park Avenue, 001 212 490 6650)

If grass and trees is more your idea of romance, take a handsome cab ride through Central Park. No one could resist snuggling up in the back of a plush horse-drawn carriage while enjoying the wonderful Central Park. Cabs can be got at 59th Street (Central Park South) at 5th Avenue.

In a concrete city, there are some wonderful green spaces beckoning for romance. Apart from the obvious Central Park, take a look at some of the  botanical gardens in all the boroughs, from Queens to Staten Island.

Eating in New York is a past time for all inhabitants and there’s nothing like strolling the streets of Manhattan and “stumbling” upon a place to eat. Many of the restaurants in Greenwich village are cosy and steeped in history.

Take a trip to Hotel Mount Vernon Hotel Museum which is one of the oldest buildings in Manhattan. Their guided tour offers an interesting trip through beautiful rooms and a garden.

Ice Skating in New York

From late October to late March, there are two ice-skating lanes in Central Park New York: Lasker Rink and Wollman Rink. Skating with the trees around you and of course the Manhattan skyline in the

background. You can also get skating lessons, including ice hockey and art skating lessons.

Wollman is a better location and more intended for recreationists, while Lasker really is great for pro skating and hockeying. However, the most beautiful place is  Rockefeller Center. From November to early January you are able to skate in the middle of the city between all the skyscrapers. It is difficult to not get in the Christmas  mood.
